Apricot Kernel Oil is also known as Apricot Oil.

Benefits of Apricot Kernel Oil

  1. Boost Skin Health: Its fatty acids function as non-greasy emollients that nurture and sustain moisture. It eliminates patchiness of dry skin by maintaining the softness, suppleness of the skin. It promotes wound healing and relieves inflammatory conditions, such as psoriasis, eczema and rosacea. It’s antioxidant properties protect cells damaging from free radicals (such as environmental pollutants) and repair scarred and blemished skin. Apricot oil is naturally rich in Vitamin E, which improves the skin's ability to preserve elasticity and clarity, helping to enhance the colour of the skin and sustain the skin's radiance. Vitamin A in the oil protects the skin from damage caused by UV radiation, which reduces wrinkles and fine lines and slows the appearance of ageing. It promotes the development of collagen, which helps keep the skin healthy, strong, firm and regenerates the cells. It also safeguards the skin against toxins and bacteria. The natural linoleic acid (omega 6) content of the oil enhances the skin's barrier function, and the content of oleic acid (omega 9) softens the skin and gives a satin-like feeling.

  2. Soothes Acne: Applying apricot kernel oil to an acne flare-up site will minimize inflammation and avoid sebum build-up in the glands. It cures both, the symptoms and the underlying acne problem which exhibits its anti-inflammatory properties. It slows down the production of skin oil and clears the pores and reduces potential outbreaks.

  3. Improves Hair Health: As it facilitates the growth of thicker, longer, and healthier hair and supports hair follicles' protection, many individuals use this oil on their hair and scalp. To remove dandruff, it can be used as a hair mask. It also moisturizes by preventing moisture loss and reduce inflammatory conditions on the scalp like dryness. Since it has cleaning properties that expel sweat, excess sebum and dirt from the hair, it softens hair without leaving a greasy or sticky residue.

  4. Good for heart health: Consumption of apricot kernel oil is often healthier for the guts and therefore the circulatory system also. It improves immunity by calming joint pain and relieving stiffness, reducing joint inflammation, stiffness, pain, and enhancing flexibility. One may take apricot oil as a dressing in food and use it for cooking those recipes that go well with this oil's flavour.
